  • Sow in a location with full to part sun and average soil after last spring frost when soil has warmed. Sunflowers are quite drought tolerant, but will grow shorter in harsher conditions. May be started indoors four weeks before last frost date. Keep evenly moist and well weeded until plants are established.
  • Save seeds for winter eating by hanging mature heads upside down in a cool, dry area for a few weeks. The seeds will brush off the flower head when completely dry.
